Looking At The Most Consistently Great Pitchers In Baseball Going Into This Year

We’re in the midst of a lull in the baseball world, as the World Series ended two months ago and it’s yet another few months before the new season begins.

Having said that, I really do enjoy giving my personal opinions on different aspects of this great game as I have written several articles thus far. Here I will be discussing five pitchers who are currently playing baseball and whom I believe are among the best ones in the sport right now.

So here they are as picked by me. Whether or not you agree with me, I do welcome your thoughts about them.

Coming in at #5 on my list is Zack Greinke, who definitely came away with the greatest season last year as a pitcher. If he can do that again during the next season and the season after that, then he is going to move up on my list for sure. When all is said and done, Greinke is going to go far in this sport, especially seeing what a dangerous pitcher he continues to be.

Roy Halladay has been a consistent presence as one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball. Halladay is destined for the Hall of Fame when all is said and done.

Then there’s Chris Carpenter. I don’t know how he does it, but Carpenter is always spectacular. He came back from missing nearly two seasons last year and showed absolutely no signs of rust. In fact, he may have been better than ever before.

The #2 spot goes to Johan Santana. It doesn’t matter that he has not received a Cy Young award since coming on board with the Mets; he consistently contributes to a very good season every year. This is why Santana is at the #2 spot.

Finally, coming in at number one is Tim Lincecum. After two years of consistent dominance, I’m just about ready to say that Lincecum is no fluke. He’s the best strikeout pitcher in the game and his ERA in the twos is just amazing.

Teens that are 15 or 16 years old are not often thought of as those wanting a job. It is usually when a kid turns 16 that they might start wanting a job because they need car and date money. For those who are looking for jobs for 15 year olds though, it might be a little harder to find employers that will take a chance on them.

Kids that are 15 will most likely have little job experience and may find it hard to get jobs this summer. If a company has lots of other people applying, the jobs that normally might go to 15 year olds and teens might end up going to those that are older. Perhaps it is easier for teens to get jobs in small towns where everybody knows one another. In a small town environment, you are friends with a lot more people and it is easier to make job connections for young kids.

Getting any job for teenagers right now in this economic environment is hard. Teens will usually be one of the last ones to be hired because they have the least experience and are the least reliable. In many cases, the more seasoned workers with families to feed have gotten the jobs.

How Cable Television Companies Have By And Large Lost Their Souls

Think back to when cable TV first appeared, could you remember how different it was back then? Going back about 20 years ago, cable TV had quite a few differences compared to what we have now.

Back then, most channels where part of a network that specialized on a particular niche subject. If you were interested in watching a particular topic of programme then all you had to do as switch to that network and find the particular channel interesting to you.

Back then, both Bravo and A&E focused specifically on the fine arts and every show they aired was on that subject area. However, when you take a look at these channels today, they have begun to show things outside of the niche subject area and have started to show reality TV.

The best examples of this change in behaviour are VH1 and MTV. Both were proud to announce that their channel would show nothing but music videos.

These days, you’d be hard pressed to tune into either one of these stations to see a music video being broadcast. In fact, I can’t even remember the last time I saw one on either channel.

Both channels show so much reality TV. Shows like Rock of Love and Jersey Shore dominate both channels.

There are a few stations out there like the Game Show network which focus on targeted programming – game shows in this case. Even this channel, though, is veering into new territory as a planned new reality series will follow the life of the Newlywed Game host.

Let’s hope that television stations can return to their roots. I know that I’m not the only viewer who’d appreciate it.

A lot of people make derisory comments about the 1980’s and knock the fashions, hairstyles etc But you can’t deny it was a decade that produced some great movies.

It recently occurred to me that many of the younger generation will never have seen many of these films. If you are younger than the mid twenties, you really should get the chance to see these great movies.

Although over 20 years old now, these films still bring as much joy to the audiences today as they did the first time around and are still firm favorites.

Let’s cut to the chase, these are 5 movies which I have loved since I first saw them. Give them a try yourself to see what I’m talking about.

A little movie which gained a huge cult following is set in Chicago, stars Elisabeth Shue among others, and is called adventures in Babysitting. This is a great romp and is still very funny.

If you enjoy a good sports comedy, then Major League will suit you down to the ground. It was a big hit and two sequels followed.

Even if you haven’t seen the Breakfast Club, chances are that you will have heard of it. It is one of the best known movies of the 1980’s and its story is still relevant today. If you only see one of these 5 movies, make it this one.

A massive hit that every kid related to at the time was Ferris Bueller’s day off. This is the tale of the kid who skipped school to take his buddy and girlfriend on a trip to Chicago. Every kid wanted to be Ferris Bueller and have the guts to do that for a day. If you have somehow missed out on seeing this, make the effort to see this cinematic treat.

If action is your thing, I only have two words to say to you, Die Hard. Yes, it’s hard to believe that the original was made so many years ago. It still stands proudly amongst other more recent films and wins hands down for sheer entertainment value. You must have been living on Mars if you haven’t seen this, and if you have just returned from the Red Planet, watch it today!

See Some Of These Animals When At Your Zoo

Since I was a small child, I have been a great lover of animals. This love came about from the many visits to the zoo in my home town of San Diego. I never got bored of exploring the zoo, feeling like I was on a safari such was the variety of interesting animals on display. My interest in all animals grows forever stringer as I get older.

As I’m now an adult, I find a visit to the zoo to be a learning experience too. Of course I still enjoy the thrill of watching the animals going about their business ignoring us gaping at them; and there some that I enjoy more.

The first stop on my virtual tour of my favourite animals at the zoo is the mighty Dolphins. Kind, gentle and loving all contact with their human visitors, these wonderful mammals will always be must sees for me.

I never miss out on a trip the Monkey house; any animal from the primate family can hold my attention from hours. Some say we have evolved from Apes, and watching them perform certainly adds credence to the theory.

The comic genius and interaction between these animals is hysterical. If you are feeling a bit blue and need cheering up, go and spend some time watching the Chimps, Monkey’s et al; they will brighten your day no end.

Last, but definitely not least, are those giants of the animal world known to you and me as Elephants. Their sheer size belies their sweetness and intelligence.

No trip to a zoo is complete without spending a good amount of time watching these beasts. Their movements and interactions are fascinating.

These are my top three animals to visit on your next trip to a zoo. Try and make a point of visiting them, for sheer entertainment value, they can’t be beaten.
